A victim of political violence awaits an x-ray at a clinic June 21, 2008 in
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. She said members of President Robert Mugabe's ruling party
had rounded
her and fellow villagers up and trucked them to a campaign rally,
only to push her off the moving vehicle after the event. She asked not to be
identified by name, fearing for her life. Human rights groups accused Mugabe's
ruling party of widespread voter intimidation and violence ahead of a
presidential runoff vote between President Mugabe and opposition candidate
Morgan Tsvangirai. | |
