The 5th China International Press Photo Contest (CHIPP)
revealed its list of winners in Songjiang District of Shanghai in March 25,
2009. M
other Love in Earthquake by Chinese photographer Zou Sen wins
the award of Picture of the Year 2008.
The Contest received a total of approximately 30,000 images by over 3,100
photographers from more than 70 countries and regions around the world. The
number of entries, those from abroad in particular, saw a big increase from last
year¡¯s contest. 13 juries from 8 countries selected gold, silver, bronze awards
and awards of excellence in 16 sessions of 8 categories after four day¡¯s of

The awards ceremony will be held in Songjiang District of Shanghai in August,
together with the opening of a prize-winning images exhibition, the first CHIPP
forum on photojournalism.
