lives of the poor in Haiti are governed by geography and weather, drought and
flash flood, oppressive
heat and oppressive poverty. Caught between the forces
of nature and economics, Haitians summon an inner strength culled from faith and
hope to eke out an existence and still dream of living in the paradise that once
surrounded them.
