Vladimir Baranov was born in 1970. He is right now the Deputy Head of the
Integrated News Department and Head
of the Visual Information Department
of RIA Novosti news agency. Getting his degree in photography from the
Journalism Department, Moscow State University in 1996, he worked as a press
photographer at the Illustration Department of the Segodnya daily till 1997 and
became the Deputy Head of the Department. He, joined the Moskovskiye Novosti
WEEKLY in 1998 and then Vremya daily both as Head of Photo Department. He
became the Head of the Illustration Department at the Vremya Novostei daily in
2000 and Chief of the Photography Department at the Vedomosti daily in
2003.
