Graduated from Jilin University with a degree in history in 1965, he worked
in Xinhua News Agency as a photojournalist and editor. He was then the
editor-in-chief of the journal of Photojournalism, vice editor-in-chief of the
magazine China Journalists and China Picture Agency.
